Pearl City – The Office of Elections conducted a drawing today to determine the order the political parties will appear on the 2024 Primary Election ballot. The order, determined at random, will be listed as:

  • Green Party
  • Solidarity Party
  • Republican Party
  • Democratic Party
  • Nonpartisan Ballot
  • Libertarian Party
  • Party for Socialism and Liberation
  • We The People
  • No Labels

These parties may field candidates to run in partisan contests like U.S. Senate or State Representative. Candidates not affiliated with a political party may still run as nonpartisan candidates.

Hawaii conducts a single party primary election where voters must indicate their political preference and vote only for candidates within their selected preference. The candidates who receive the most votes are nominated to represent their political party at the General Election. Voters can also vote for candidates for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and County contests regardless of political preference.

Ahead of the 2024 Elections, voters are reminded to check that their voter registration is up-to-date before ballots are mailed out. The Primary Election ballot will arrive in the mail by July 23 and the General Election ballot by October 18.

Primary Election: Saturday, August 10
