Note: All 25 State Senate seats were up for election in 2022 due to redistricting by the 2021 Reapportionment Commission. Since State Senate elections are staggered, the Reapportionment Commission assigned a 2-year term for 12 seats (1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24) and a 4-year term for the other 13 seats (2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21, 25). The 12 seats up for election in 2024 will resume the normal 4-year term going forward. (Hawaii State Constitution, Article IV, Sections 7 and 8)
