Hawaii conducts a single party primary election where voters must indicate their political preference and vote only for candidates within their selected preference. The candidates who receive the most votes are nominated to represent their political party at the General Election. Voters can also vote for candidates for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and County contests regardless of political preference.
Ahead of the 2024 Elections, voters are reminded to check that their voter registration is up-to-date before ballots are mailed out. The Primary Election ballot will arrive in the mail by July 23 and the General Election ballot by October 18.
