State Senate

4 year term beginning on the date of the general election
Note: The term of office for State Senators elected in 2020 for districts: 2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 22, 25 is 2 years. All 25 State Senate seats are up for election in 2022 due to redistricting by the 2021 Reapportionment Commission. Since State Senate elections are staggered, the Reapportionment Commission will assign a 2-year term for 12 seats and a 4-year term for the other 13 seats. The 12 seats up for election in 2024 will resume the normal 4-year term going forward. (Hawaii State Constitution, Article IV, Sections 7 and 8)
