Pearl City, August 2, 2016 – The Office of Elections announced today that Governor David Ige and Chief Election Officer Scott Nago have issued a proclamation to conduct a Special Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 to fill a vacancy in the First Congressional District of the State of Hawaii. This election will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled General Election on this same date.
Candidate filing for the Special Election runs from August 15 through August 25, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. The candidate filing process allows qualified individuals to have their name appear on the ballot. Those interested in being a candidate may obtain and file a nomination paper at the Office of Elections.
